New Contemporary Barn | Laxfield | Suffolk
Full Planning approval for this contemporary barn inspired 3 bedroom house in a rear garden site in Suffolk. The site was part of the garden of a Grade II listed farmhouse so particular care was taken to keep the proposal subservient to the listed house and not adversely effect it’s setting. By splitting the design into to adjoining masses the perceived volume of the proposal was reduced. Additionally it allowed the scheme to step up away from the existing farmhouse whilst also presenting a reduced elevation. This was achieved by orientating the tall element to be end on and limiting it to 1.5 storey.
